“For me to say I wasn’t a genius I would just be lying to you and myself.”-Kanye
Kanye West appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and after engaging in a Twitter feud just weeks prior, the two stars were (disappointingly) apologetic and cordial. They talked through their issues and eventually came to an understanding. At the end, Kimmel even gave West a pair of leather jogging pants for North and it seemed like all was right again in the world.
But, a las, if Kanye’s good for anything, it’s entertaining television. In the middle of the truce and gift-giving, Kanye did what he did best, which is: rant, name-drop and humble brag. The topics of his tangents ranged from fashion (of course) to the paparazzi (duh) to his outrage at Kim being denied a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame (Please don’t let this happen, ever).
All jokes aside, he did touch upon taboo issues of classism, racism and snobbery, which were surprisingly insightful and inspiring. The interview was like a continuation of his BBC Radio 1 Interview with Zane Lowe, with an equal amount of quotable lines.
